Culver Aviation, SmartFarming and Vkursi Agro cooperate to assess war devastation in Ukraine

Culver Aviation has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation and Interaction with SmartFarming and Vkursi Agro. The partners will combine their efforts to strengthen their own competencies and more appropriately use available resources to effectively assess the destruction and damage caused by war in Ukraine, as well as contribute to the country's economic revival, development and protection of its interests.

The companies will cooperate to take aerial photos of settlements affected by the occupation and damaged objects using UAVs and create on their basis orthophotomaps to confirm the facts of destruction within the RebuildUA project.

The received information will be verified, analyzed and evaluated by specialists from the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE), which together with the Office of the President of Ukraine and the Ministry of Economy has been implementing the project "russia will pay" since the first days of the war. All data collected under this initiative will be used as evidence of war crimes of the aggressor country in order to obtain compensation and international financial aid for the reconstruction and rebuilding of the state. Culver Aviation is one of the project partners and cooperates with the KSE in the framework of the relevant Memorandum in order to create a unified register of damages and an aggregated database on material losses from the war.

"As recent events showed us, that the strength of Ukrainians is in their unity. Drones are now critical to both the army and civilian sectors of the country's economy. Assessing destruction and damage using drones is an opportunity to get complete and objective data quickly. We are pleased to join the volunteer initiative to contribute to Ukraine's postwar rebirth, and we are grateful to our partners for their trust and cooperation", notes the CEO of Culver Aviation Oleksandr Danylenko.

According to the KSE estimates, by August 1, 2022, the Ukrainian economy losses from damage and destruction caused by the war amounted to more than $108 billion. The largest share of the total damage is caused by residential buildings.

To monitor destroyed and damaged objects, Culver Aviation uses SKIF, a "flying wing" type drone of its own design. It can stay in the air 1.5 times longer and cover twice as much distance in one flight as similar drones, and our UAV fleet is the largest in Ukraine. Thanks to modern high-resolution cameras and dual-frequency navigation system, SKIF takes images with centimeter accuracy, allowing to recognize even small objects on the ground. It can survey an area of up to 1,500 hectares in a single flight, and working at an altitude of up to 1,200 meters does not distract military and rescue personnel from their tasks, as in the case of the copters. Availability of its own GIS-department allows fast processing of the data and creating on its basis orthophotomaps of high accuracy and quality. How Culver Aviation helps to monitor war-damaged objects, we told here.

Together with SmartFarming and Vkursi Agro Culver Aviation will be able to document war crimes of the aggressor country even faster to analyze and assess the damage and facilitate effective decision making on local, state and even interstate level to speed up reconstruction of Ukraine.
