Culver Aviation and Lviv Polytechnic will cooperate to train UAV engineers

Culver Aviation and Lviv Polytechnic National University have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. Specialists of the company will participate in the training of students in the new educational program "Unmanned Aerial Vehicles", which will host its first learners this year.

Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Transportation of Lviv Polytechnic University from the new academic year at the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering and Welding will start new training direction - "Unmanned Aerial Vehicles" at the specialty №134 "Aviation and Rocket-Space Engineering". The new educational and professional program will train in the following directions:

  • UAV design and production;
  • Maintenance and operation of UAVs;
  • Welding technologies in UAV production.

"Drones are one of the most innovative technologies that a lot of different industries need, from agriculture to construction and logistics. Ukraine is a full-fledged participant of this market, we already produce decent drones and have the potential to become one of the most prominent players on the world stage. At the same time, the UAV industry lacks qualified specialists, so Culver Aviation team will share all its experience to help Lviv Polytechnic to train talented Ukrainian engineers", — Oleksandr Danylenko, CEO of Culver Aviation.

According to the memorandum, the company will share its experience with students, invite them for internships in production and hold specialized courses and trainings. It will also teach students how to operate drones – they will be able to learn an additional profession and get a certificate as a UAV operator.

"With Culver Aviation, students will be able to deepen their knowledge of engineering, aircraft design and programming in practice, as well as gain additional competencies in remote sensing, basics of aerial photography, meteorology and geodesy. We strive to provide students with a relevant and applied education – the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles program will be just that. I also invite everyone to courses of operators to our partners - "Academy of drones" on the basis of technology park "Flight city 4.0" at the State Flight Academy in Kropivnitsky", — Olesia Maksymovych, Head of the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering and Welding, Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Transport, National University "Lviv Polytechnic".


The entrance campaign consists of several stages, each with a certain deadline. In particular, the terms of formation of ranking lists, acceptance of documents, competitions, entrance examinations, interviews, competitive selection and admission.

Stages of the entrance campaign:

3. The deadline for publication of the ranking list of applicants with recommendations for admission:

  • by state order – no later than August 29
  • for funds of individuals and legal entities – not earlier than September 02

4. Deadlines for applicants to submit original documents:

  • for places of state order – September 02
  • for the funds of individuals and legal entities – September 08

5. Dates of enrollment of entrants:

  • for the state order – September 05
  • for the funds of individuals and legal entities – September 09
  • for funds of individuals and legal entities (additional set) – until September 30
  • transfer to state-ordered places – no later than September 19

To enroll, the candidate applies the following documents:

  • a copy of the document (one of the documents) certifying the identity provided by the Law of Ukraine "On the Unified State Demographic Register and documents confirming the citizenship of Ukraine, certifying a person or his special status";
  • military registration document (for persons liable for military service - a military ID card or a temporary certificate of a person liable for military service, and for draftees - a certificate of assignment to recruiting stations);
  • copy of the document (state sample) on the previously obtained educational (educational-qualification) level, on the basis of which the entry, if the information about it is not stored in the Uniform State Educational Electronic Database;
  • Copies of documents certified by the Admissions Committee, confirming the entrant's right to participate in the competition based on the results of the individual oral interview, enrollment by quota-1, quota-2;
  • Four 3 x 4 cm color photographs.

Documents can be submitted in person or send copies with the electronic signature of the applicant. If within twenty calendar days after the beginning of training from the applicant are not received original documents (personally or by mail), the order of enrollment is canceled in terms of enrollment of such person. If the training agreement is not concluded within twenty calendar days after the start of training (signed in person or by qualified electronic signature), then this order is canceled in terms of enrollment of such a person.

Cost of education per year (contract): 17 500 UAH
