Culver Aviation UAV operator school welcomes you for training in Kyiv

Culver Aviation is pleased to announce the opening of the UAV operator school in Kyiv and invites everyone to attend the training.

Classes in the 5-day basic course on the fundamentals of UAV operation start on Mondays. The first group of students in Kyiv started training on August 15.

Culver Aviation's UAV operator school began operating on April 18, when the company's operations and office were relocated to western Ukraine after the russian terrorist incursion. Over the 14 weeks of work, the courses were attended by 150 students, including both citizens and internally displaced persons. Now residents of the capital and the suburbs also have the opportunity to get a new profession.

Students of the operator school will learn how to operate a UAV, get basic knowledge of land remote sensing, the basics of aerial photography and aerodynamics. The School is taught by experienced Culver Aviation instructors with real experience in drone control, as well as specialists from the company's R&D and GIS departments.

After successful passing the course, all graduates receive a certificate from Culver Aviation.

Who needs drone operators?

According to the UN International Labor Organization, almost 5 million Ukrainians have lost their jobs since the start of the war. The number of vacancies has decreased even in the IT sector: now there are about 40% of the pre-war level.

In such circumstances, the opportunity to get a new profession becomes very relevant. Drone operators are in demand in agriculture, forestry, ecology, construction, defense and media. For example, 4 times more fields in Ukraine are cultivated by drones annually than the year before. In addition, as the Growford Institute expects, when the war is over, the greatest rate of growth will be in industries that will work to restore the domestic market, particularly in the agricultural sector.

With the Culver Aviation drone operator course, you have the chance to:

  • begin to master a new profession and fly for commercial orders
  • learn how to create orthophotomaps, 2D and 3D area models
  • monitor accidents and natural disasters while flying a copter
  • gain knowledge of aerial photography and principles of photography and filming with drones

The most successful students of the operator school are immediately offered a job: 10 graduates have already been employed by Culver Aviation, and the company continues to train its staff reserve.

"I evacuated from Kharkiv to Western Ukraine during the first month of the full-scale invasion. Staying in Yaremche, I started working at a volunteer center. I learned about the Culver Aviation UAV operator school in Western Ukraine I learned about from the local telegram channels. I liked the opportunity to become a pilot of the UAV, so I applied and when it was approved I started my studies.

From the first day of training it became clear that drone operation is an interesting and promising profession. The week of training at the school was very busy, I tried to memorize and understand all the material that was taught by the company's specialists and instructors. Practical lessons were especially interesting. I remember being very worried not to break the training drones, and I succeeded. That's probably why I was offered a job at the company)

The job offer from Culver Aviation surprised and pleased me a lot Working for the company is very interesting and sometimes even fun. This is a great new experience for me, and I think I was very lucky to get this job", — Volodymyr, Culver Aviation UAV operator, graduate of the operator school.

"I saw the announcement about recruiting for the Culver Aviation UAV operator school in one of the local telegram channels. Since I have always been interested in technology and wanted to work in this field, I immediately applied for participation.

Thanks to the teachers and instructors the learning process was very interesting. After the practical sessions, I was convinced that I wanted to work as a UAV operator and develop in this field.

Communicating with Culver Aviation instructors during the training, I saw the relationship between the company employees and wanted to work with them. To study and learn more, I stayed after class. The instructors recognized my desire and motivation and offered me a job at the company.

Working at Culver Aviation is enjoyable and comfortable. Our team is very friendly and calm, everyone works as one mechanism, supports and helps each other", — Danilo, Culver Aviation UAV operator, graduate of the operator school.

The first groups of students studied for free. But because of the return to Kyiv and in order to improve the level of training, it was decided to make training at the UAV operator school for a fee. You can learn more about the program and conditions of training at the link.
