Culver Aviation became a participant of the National Student Scientific and Practical Conference "Land Management and Topographic Activities in the Conditions of War and Post-War Reconstruction", which was held on March 8-10, 2023 at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine.
The participants of the event discussed the regulation of land relations in the conditions of war and post-war reconstruction, land management, land cadastre, land valuation, topographic and geodetic, and cartographic activities.
As land is one of Ukraine's largest assets and the key to its economic development, the regulation of land relations currently plays a major role. At the same time, the challenges that our country is already facing in the de-occupied territories and that will require priority resolution in the post-war period will become the main task of geodesy and land management specialists.
According to the data released in October 2022 by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, almost a third of our territory (about 200 thousand square kilometers) is contaminated as a result of hostilities. To demine and ensure their technogenic and environmental safety and restoration for further use, it is important to use the latest technological solutions that will allow us to work remotely without endangering land surveyors and people living in these areas. Such technologies include, among others, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles.
Vladyslav Zgurovsky, Business Development Specialist at Culver Aviation, told the Faculty of Land Management students about the possibilities of collecting data from the Earth's surface using UAVs. Since unmanned aerial vehicles will soon become the main tool for collecting geoinformation data, educational institutions must reform the educational process and build it with new trends.
Vladyslav also explained how the company is involved in assessing the damage caused by the war as part of the "russia will pay" project by monitoring settlements damaged during the war. The aircraft itself was demonstrated to students and participants of the event as part of the exhibition of devices and equipment.
